Payment Options

Payment is due or other arrangements must be made at the time our professional dental services are provided. We will make every effort to work with you to establish a payment option for your needs that matches the treatment plans you or your family member requires.

Payment options include cash, check, credit card (Visa, Mastercard or Discover), or Care Credit financing.

We accept many insurance plans, and we can submit your insurance claims on your behalf.

Dental Insurance

We are happy to file your insurance claim for you. You should be familiar with your insurance benefits, as we will collect from you the estimated amount that your insurance is not expected to pay. By law, your insurance company is required to pay each claim within 30 days of receipt. We file all insurance claims electronically so your insurance company will receive your claim within a short time of your treatment. You are responsible for any balance on your account after 30 days, whether insurance has paid or not. If you have not paid your balance within 90 days a finance charge of 1.5% or $5, whichever is greater, will be added to your account each month until the account is paid. We are glad to send a refund to you once your insurance company has paid us.

We file dental insurance as a courtesy to our patients. We do not have a contract with any insurance company. Only you possess the contract with an insurance provider. We are not responsible for how your insurance company handles its claims or for what benefits they pay on a claim.

We can only assist you in estimating your portion of the cost of a treatment, and at no time can we guarantee what your insurance will or will not do with each claim. We also cannot be responsible for any errors in filing your insurance.

Please understand that no insurance covers 100% of treatment and procedure costs.
Most plans pay between 50% and 80% of the average total fee. Some pay more. Some pay less.

Also understand that your insurer, not Carrels and Bain Family Dental Care, determines your insurance benefits. Your insurance company establishes what they feel are customary or reasonable fees for dental services, and they base their reimbursements on these determinations. Generally speaking, lower priced insurance policies will use a lower than usual fee figure for services.

Finally, when estimating insurance benefits for your claim, deductibles and percentages must be considered. The percentage your insurer pays is based on the overall fee minus your deductible, and then factors in whatever percentage of the remaining costs that is allowed by your insurance plan.

It is very important that you keep us informed regarding any insurance changes such as policy name or number, insurance company, or a change in employment.
If you do not have dental insurance, we offer our own payment options and plans. Please call our office for further information.
